PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Accomplishes and communicates safety and compliance requirements consistent with the company’s safety policies and procedures while meeting the DOT, OSHA, Homeland Security, IDNR and insurance carriers.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Follows-up on action plans and completion of projects from insurance, DOT and OSHA audits.

Distributes recommendations from insurance, OSHA, DOT audits.

Tracks and maintains training records for all employees and determines training requirements. Schedules and coordinates mandatory safety training. Updates and maintains safety and compliance record-keeping   system information.

Ensures that all required paperwork and documentation is in place for all company vehicles, facilities and offices to meet regulations required by the DOT, OSHA, Homeland Security and insurance provider.

Ensures that all meter inspections are current for rolling stock and metered facilities.

Monitors and manages fire extinguisher inspection records and locations for company vehicles and facilities.

Helps update Fire Safety Analysis (FSA), Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans, Emergency Response Plans (ERP), Emergency Action Plans (EAP) and DOT Security plans as needed.

Files and distributes MSDS sheets routinely as requested from customers and suppliers.

Verifies, maintains and updates Certificates of Insurance from contractors as needed.

Monitors and manages annual reporting or payment of fees for meters and scales to the State as required.

Manages daily, monthly, annual and five year vehicle inspection reports.

Manages and verifies that all required reference materials are distributed for placement in all company vehicles.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Initiates background and license checks and assists with orientation and training for new employees.

Supports and contributes to total company goals and objectives through collaboration efforts.

 

Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

 

Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Normally requires a minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Health and Safety, Compliance, or Business or the equivalent thereof, and 2 years or more of related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of safety, health, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

 

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

 

Prefer an understanding of GROWMARK safety, health, environmental, and regulatory compliance.

           

Must be able to obtain and maintain all applicable training, permits, and certifications.

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record and have the ability to travel independently and overnight.

 

Ability to work extended hours and on-call as business conditions warrant.

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
