Precision Equipment Specialist - Insight FS - Central WI

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Markets precision Ag technology equipment and software, coordinates precision farming programs, and precision information management to achieve profitable business growth.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Markets, sells, installs, and services precision Ag technology equipment and software to assist producers in achieving their crop production goals.

 

Develops, organizes, and coordinates precision Ag soil testing programs, the procedures and assigned personnel that move the flow of information from soil testing through Green Plan/Global Information Systems to Variable Rate Technology applications and beyond.

 

Utilizes computer maps to gather data on soil, crops, pests, and weather that will determine a farm's specific agribusiness needs.

 

Provides the information link between precision farm technologies and company personnel and serves as a contact person on all matters relating to precision farming.

 

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Assists crop sales specialists with precision farming meetings, sales interviews, proposals and presentations of precision farming products and services.

 

Performs crop scouting duties for producer acres based on workload or seasonal demands.

 

Supports and contributes to total company goals and objectives through collaboration efforts.

 

Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

 

Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Normally requires an Associate’s degree in an agriculture, GIS/GPS, or marketing related discipline, or the equivalent thereof, and 1 - 2 years or more of related work experience or internships to demonstrate knowledge of precision technology and crop production management.

 

Demonstrated essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

 

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and have the ability to travel independently and overnight.

 

Ability to work extended hours and on-call as business conditions warrant

 

Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable certifications, licenses, and permits.

 

Occasionally exposed or required to: 

  • Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.)
  • Noisy conditions
  • Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures
  • May be required to work at varying heights
  • Lift 51 - 70 lbs.

 

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
