PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Under the direction of Plant Manager, work in all areas within the company to gain a working knowledge of Ag-Land FS, Inc.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Oversee and operate the loading, handling, and inventory of fertilizer and crop protection products

 

Routine containment inspection of fertilizer and bulk crop protection products

 

When needed, custom apply crop protection inputs to customer’s fields

 

When needed, custom apply anhydrous ammonia 

 

When needed, custom apply dry fertilizer 

 

Follow recommended rates, procedures, and pesticide labels for all applications and complete spray/application logs as fields are completed, noting any problems or concerns 

 

Works with other location employees in routine maintenance of buildings, equipment, and property to enhance company image

 

Deliver products to customers as required

 

Gain knowledge of products and services offered by Ag-Land FS, Inc.

 


OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Adheres to Ag-Land FS, Inc. environmental, health, training, and safety policies to prevent accidents or injuries.

 

Adheres to Ag-Land FS, Inc. Uniform policy, and maintains the appropriate professional image.

 

Attends training meetings, clinics, and schools that will provide knowledge for employee.

 

Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

Proven professional communication and customer service skills and the ability to comprehend simple instructions, communicate one-on-one and in small groups with customers and other employees.

 

Demonstrated ability to diagnose and solve problems as they arise. 

 

Demonstrated time management and basic math skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals along with the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

 

Proven ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

 

Understanding of basic computer skills as they relate to custom application business.

 

Demonstrated core competencies including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making, and skill development.

 

Must be able to obtain: 

 

Class A CDL with endorsements of hazmat, air brakes, and tanker

 

Competent attendant Anhydrous Ammonia certification

 

DOT Medical Examiners Certificate 

 

Commercial “Applicator/Operator” license 

 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

Must be willing to work beyond those hours considered normal.

 

Have the ability to lift and carry 70 lbs.

 

Be able to perform minor equipment maintenance and repair.

 

Willing to work outdoors, in weather extremes when necessary.

 

Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures

 

May be required to work at varying heights

 

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on FS policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of this position.
