Salary: $18-22/hour
Responsibilities:
- Training and learning all aspects of the agronomy department, including both technical and operational responsibilities.
- Develops territory and competitive analysis to gain knowledge of the marketplace and the competition.
- Responsible for meeting goals established by supervisor.
- Learns and supports the department’s daily AM data review / PM field verification cadence, including prioritizing imagery-based alerts from pre-plant through harvest and documenting outcomes.
- Assists with early-season Sentera imagery review of corn and soybean stand/population counts and weed escape identification; helps triage exceptions for follow-up and supports same-day escalation when required.
- Performs field checks based on data observations, collecting standardized measurements (stand counts, severity ratings, height/vigor comparisons, soil condition notes) and consistent photo documentation to confirm or refute imagery/alert signals.
- Utilizes AI tools to analyze collected field photos and field notes during scouting to standardize diagnosis, improve confidence scoring, identify discriminating checks, and produce clear recommended actions and follow-up plans.
- Supports and/or leads site-specific SCN (soybean cyst nematode) sampling and mapping, including establishing baseline risk, collecting zone-based samples, tracking lab results, and using findings to guide variety/seed treatment recommendations.
- Assists with nitrogen soil test inventory on selected acres (site-specific), organizing sampling locations, logging results, and supporting recommendations aligned to fertility plans and product strategy.
- Expands insect scouting programs including soybean aphid monitoring and corn rootworm assessment (digging/root injury ratings, lodging/standability notes), documenting threshold-based decision support for insecticide use.
- Supports the design and execution of product performance testing to strengthen chemistry use and rates, including simple, defensible trials (untreated checks, rate ladders, timing comparisons, adjuvant/no-adjuvant comparisons) and consistent data capture.
- Assists with pre- and post-season testing packages that support crop protection and seed treatment adoption, including stand establishment proof, disease severity/quality documentation, weed escape diagnostics, and harvest-side yield/quality capture when applicable.
- Supports a high-resolution drone imaging program by selecting “high-value” acres for detailed problem identification/monitoring, planning and executing missions, and ensuring data is processed and delivered in a timely manner.
- Helps maintain a structured “truth table” (confirmed/false/partial/needs revisit) that closes the loop between imagery alerts, field observations, drone results, and agronomic recommendations to support customer success and drive product sales.
- Assists with regular patron meetings on product and technical information to develop customer relationships and drive sales.
- Attend meetings and training sessions requested by company.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelors’ Degree in Agriculture or business related discipline or the equivalent thereof, and 1-2 years or more of business related work experience and/or training or equivalent.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
- Daily independent travel within the trade area with occasional overnight stays.
- Ability to work extended hours as business conditions warrant.
- Must be willing to obtain CDL license within first year of employment.
- Requires the ability to obtain the Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) and Commercial Applicator certifications to demonstrate agronomy expertise and experience.

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to base pay, certain roles may be eligible for bonuses, incentives, and commissions.
