Specialist, Branch Operations - Sunrise FS - Bluff Springs, IL
Sunrise FS is headquartered in Virginia, Illinois with branches in Mason and Cass counties. Sunrise FS has about 200 employees (including seasonal workers) and approximately 2,500 customers. The cooperative does business in agronomy, energy, grain, tires, irrigation, and retail. Sunrise FS is part of the GROWMARK System, an agricultural cooperative serving more than 100,000 customers across North America and Ontario, Canada.
PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT
Responsible for providing, supervision, and leadership of the operations of the assigned location including personnel, product handling, and customer satisfaction.
SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHP
Provides supervision and leadership for the, Applicators, Ag Operations, and Administrative Assistant personnel at the assigned location.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Supervises plant operations including, loading, and the mixing and handling of agriculture chemicals and liquid fertilizer.
Trains employees to meet state, federal, and company regulatory and safety criteria.
Collaborates with the Location Manager to insure all equipment, rolling stock, and facilities are in good working order.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Assists with annual budget planning process.
Supports and contributes to total company goals and objectives through collaboration efforts.
Maintains the assigned vehicle according to company standards, adheres to the uniform policy, and maintains the appropriate professional image.
Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Normally requires an Associate’s Degree in agricultural or business discipline, or the equivalent thereof, and 3 years or more of supervisory related work experience to demonstrate knowledge to effectively manage the assigned facilities and personnel.
Understanding and experience with general business concepts such as competitive adeptness, inventory management, and customer’s credit worthiness.
Product knowledge and proficiency, including but not limited to: fertilizers, agriculture chemicals, seed, soil needs, and field monitoring.
Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, a satisfactory driving record, and have the ability to travel independently.
Must be able to obtain and maintain all applicable certifications, licenses, and permits.
Ability to work extended hours as business conditions warrant.
Knowledge of GROWMARK agronomy and/or energy operations is preferred.
Occasionally exposed or required to:
- Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, snow, ice, etc.)
- Noisy conditions
- Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures
- May be required to work at varying heights
- Lift 51 - 70 lbs.
Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
