Dairy Specialist - Insight FS - Brandon, WI

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Generates profitable sales in the assigned territory through target marketing, competitive analysis, and providing value-added feed products, services, and recommendations. 

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Develops and implements marketing plans and sales strategies that generate profitable sales in the assigned territory

 

Utilizes target marketing and professional sales techniques including the FS sales interview road map, feed management programs, emphasis of appropriate features and benefits, and contact management system when calling on patrons and prospects

 

Develops territory and competitive analysis to maintain a current knowledge of the marketplace and the competition

 

Provides value-added feed products, services, and recommendations to patrons and prospects 

 

Schedules product delivery to customer locations, makes deliveries as needed, and assists with coordination of feed mills, inventories, and routes

 

Conducts regular patron meetings on product and technical information

 

Provides customer service by following up on customer complaints and seeking a reasonable “win/win” resolution

 

Ensures the credit worthiness of customers, quotes prices and credit terms, and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained

 

Promotes the use of credit programs as a sales tool and helps provide the required information to establish credit.  Works closely with the credit department in collection of accounts receivable

 

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply

 

Performs all other duties as assigned

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Normally requires a college degree in agriculture, marketing, or other business related discipline, or the equivalent thereof, and at least 2 years of sales/marketing experience to demonstrate the ability to generate profitable sales in the assigned territory

 

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development

 

Normally requires an Enterprise Specialist certification or the ability to obtain/maintain one to demonstrate advanced feed sales training and experience

 

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record

 

Must have the ability to travel independently and overnight as needed

 

Occassionally required to lift 51-70 lbs

 

Must be able to work hours beyond those considered “normal”

 

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
