Job Description
Pay Range: $17 - $20 per hour
Job summary:
Responsible for providing positive customer service to all patrons and fellow employees of the company. Under the direction of the Controller and General Manager, perform tasks assigned to help maintain location efficiency and profitability of the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide quality service to customers that walk in and to those that call on the phone.
- Weigh and grade all inbound and outbound loads at the facility on a daily basis.
- Responsible for all the grain accounting for this location.
- Understand the Futures grain markets and how it affects our cash grain prices.
- Have a thorough knowledge of the grain contracts and marketing options we offer patrons.
- Be able to provide patrons with accurate grain market information.
- Purchase grain from patrons and report purchase information to the purchase group.
- Settle grain contracts and write checks to patrons upon request.
- Communicate with patrons and truck drivers to ensure the accuracy and disposition of each load delivered to the facility.
- Process scale tickets, transact customer business and generate daily grain reports using the Agris computer software system.
- Work to resolve customer complaints on your own or with managements input.
- Maintain and clean the office and office equipment.
- Help hire, train and supervise seasonal office help.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to learn and be proficient with grain accounting and spreadsheet software.
- Experience working with the public demonstrating excellent customer service.
- Must have problem solving skills and the ability to work independently during busy periods.
- Must have an excellent attendance record and be at work promptly each day.
- Must be willing to work hours beyond the normal work week including some weekends.
