Energy Service Technician - Gold Star FS - Cambridge, IL


HIRING MANAGER: Lauren Johnson

LOCATION: Cambridge, IL



Performs operational support and service work for the Energy Department, including liquid fuels and LP, setting up and maintaining fuel and LP tanks and making deliveries as needed.





Install and maintain customer propane systems, perform leak checks and regulator changeouts


Install and maintain liquid fuel and lubricant storage tanks and pumps


Assist in monthly and annual inventory duties


Operate liquid fuel, propane and bulk lubricant delivery trucks as needed to help out during peak operating times


Assist in maintaining records and documentation for Energy Department Customers


Perform monthly and quarterly facility inspections and maintenance and maintain proper regulatory documentation


Delivery bulk and packaged lubricant products, and petroleum equipment as needed to assist petroleum drivers and sales specialist within assigned territory


Provide overall operational support to Energy Department


Adheres to and supports the company credit policy


Attends and participates in training classes and meetings as required


Maintain company vehicles and equipment, performing basic maintenance as needed


Assist with customer service, plant operations and team safety.


Work with facility team to build unity and help accomplish company goals.


Perform all other duties as assigned





Normally requires a high school diploma or equivalent and demonstrated reasoning ability to solve practical problems and handle customer inquiries and concerns as well as possess a mechanical aptitude


Must be able to obtain and maintain a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Hazmat, Tanker, and Air Brake endorsements and maintain a satisfactory driving record


Must attend and successfully complete the IPGA Propane Training Certification (CETP)


Demonstrate essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development


Must be willing to work hours beyond those condiered "normal" in order to meet seasonal demand


Must be able to work in extreme weather and dusty conditions.


Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK's policies and procedures and additional training as it related to the requirements of the position


Be able to lift a minimum of 70 pounds


Candidate must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, must also have the ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages.





Basic computer skills and the ability to utilize technology.


Ability to balance a demanding work schedule with personal life.


Good communication, persuasion and team work skills.


Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills
