Feed Intern - Insight FS - Darlington, WI

 

Insight FS is headquartered in Jefferson, Wisconsin with branches all over the state. Insight FS has about 410 employees (including seasonal workers) and approximately 41,000 customers. The cooperative does business in agronomy, agri-finance, precision agriculture, nutrient management, energy, feed, grain, and turf. PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Under the direction of the Feed Marketing Manager and local support from Feed Specialist mentor; receive training and assist with activities involving dairy nutrition, feed sales, and marketing in assign territory.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Will receive training in and assist with:

 

Analyzing commodities with on-site testing facility and will need to interpret and analysis results.

 

Conducting on-farm market research survey while providing information on new offerings from the Cooperative.

 

Conducting on farm benchmarking analysis of animals and provide summary of results with recommended analysis.

 

Opportunity to learn dairy nutrition from Insight FS Feed Specialist and other industry leaders.

 

Will have opportunity to learn other departments that help makeup Insight FS Cooperative.

 

Assist with feed mill/warehouse duties as needed.

 

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

 

Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Must be pursuing an Animal Science degree at a 4-year university, with a status of at least a second semester junior or first semester senior in good academic standing at the time the internship begins.

 

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

 

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position. 

 

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

 

Must be able to travel independently and overnight when necessary.
