PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Responsible for assisting the CFO by performing duties in grain accounting. Performs clerical accounting duties according to accepted accounting standards.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Enters and codes Accounts Payable invoices daily.

 

Processes Accounts Payable check runs.

 

Works with CFO in preparing Monthly financials

 

Balances checking account.

 

Reconciles vendor statements and clearing accounts.

 

Quotes grain prices to Farmers and does farmer settlements

 

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Assists in monitoring DPR and Hedging Positions. Makes sure of compliance of State of Il. grain warehouse rules

 

Assists in inbound and outbound grain movement to include weighing and grading.

 

Drives and runs local errands as needed, including mail runs.

 

Supports and contributes to total company goals and objectives through collaboration efforts.

 

Follows Donovan Farmers Coop Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

 

Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Normally requires an Associate’s Degree in Accounting, or the equivalent thereof, and 3 years or more of related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of accounting procedures. (Although an applicant without this experience would be considered with positive attitude and strong desire to learn)

 

Microsoft Office background with a minimum of intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.

 

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

 

 Demonstrates an understanding of company’s accounting practices.

           

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

Ability to travel independently and/or overnight as needed.

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on Donovan’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position. 

Candidate must willing to work overtime in seasonal times which could include weekend hours.
