PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Drive energy trucks over established routes. Deliver propane to customer residences, farms, and commercial businesses. Record transactions on customer deliveries and obtain customer signatures on receipt for pickup or delivery.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Assist propane sales & service personnel as needed with the installation of LP tanks and equipment.

 

Ensure customer satisfaction by promoting good relations; assist in production selection and advise on the use and application of products sold.

 

Test LP systems for leaks and deliver LP cylinders.

 

Assist in collecting accounts and contracting of LP, handle complaints promptly.

 

Inform customers of new products or services and communicate sales leads to energy salesperson.

 

Complete and turn in daily sales reports and do inventory of truck and LP plant.

 

Adhere to the uniform policy, and maintain the appropriate professional image.

 

Operate computer using ticket creation software.

 

Maintain the truck and plant equipment according to company standards and perform routine maintenance on the truck.

 

Work additional hours to meet season demands. Allow for flexibility in work schedule in order to ensure order completion.

 

Adhere to the company environmental, health, and safety policies and do required safety training. May serve on the location Safety Committee.

 

Exercise initiative or, as directed, perform additional duties to meet the needs of the organization.

Education

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

           

Experience

One to two years or more of related work experience preferred but willing to train.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

Certificates, Licenses Registrations

Appropriate drivers license, CDL with Hazmat, Tank and air brakes. Must pass required CEPT schooling. Employee must be insurable to operate required vehicles.

 

Materials, Equipment and Software Used

Ability to operate required vehicles. Working knowledge of applicable company computer programs, such as ticket making software.

 

Physical Demands

The work requires considerable strenuous physical activity such as frequent climbing of tall ladders, lifting heavy objects (70+ pounds) and the use of transportation equipment.

 

Work Environment

The work environment involves risks with frequent exposure to potentially dangerous situations which require a range of precautions or significant opportunity for personal injury if an error or mishap occurs.
