Agronomy Sales Specialist

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

The purpose of this position is to help maximize profitable sales of assigned products, programs, and services. Work closely with agronomists and precision team to establish sales opportunities and long term relationships. Ensure customers receive products in a timely, efficient manner. Communicates data and agronomic needs between growers and crop specialists. 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Assist Agronomists with crop scouting, agronomic plans, order and data entry.

 

Assist customers with Bayer Plus Reward Program.

 

Identify and develop new and current customers for precision equipment and data management to achieve grower's goals. 

 

Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales methods, costs, and results.

 

Tailor programs to meet the customers' needs utilizing available programs (i.e., Agri-Finance).

 

Coordinate precision farming services and products with the Precision Farming team and customers.

 

Complete sales and contact management reports on key accounts and targeted prospects for communications of information of all Climate FieldView customers. 

 

Assist with profitable sales and service of products and programs to key accounts and targeted prospects. 

 

Attain and maintain all skills required for the position.

 

Assist with billing needs at locations

 

Once trained, with support from the Agronomy Mansager, role will transition to partial sales and market share growth of assigned products and services.

 

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Assists Crop Specialists, Precision Farming Team, and Agronomy Manager with meetings, proposals, and presentations of precision farming products and services.

 

Collaborates with the Agronomy Manager and Crop Specialists to grow the Precision & Agronomy department.

 

Supports and contributes to total company goals and objectives through collaboration efforts.

 

Responsible for maintaining the assigned vehicle according to company standards adhere to the uniform policy and maintains the appropriate professional image.

 

Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

 

Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Normally requires a 2-year degree in Agriculture, GIS/GPS or equivalent of 2 years or more of related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of precision technology, crop production management, and programs.

 

Demonstrated essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making, skill development and willing to train.

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and have the ability to travel independently and overnight.

 

Willingness to transition into partial sales role is required

 

Ability to work extended hours and on-call as business conditions warrant.

Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable professional certifications associated with the agronomy industry. (i.e., CCA, CSS, CPAg).

 

Occasionally exposed or required to:  

  • Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.)
  • Noisy conditions
  • Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures
  • May be required to work at varying heights 

 

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
