PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Responsible for the overall capital and financing, accounting, audit, tax, financial analysis and information technology activities of the organization.  Ensures the company has a sound corporate risk management system.  Provides leadership towards achieving the company’s short- and long-term strategic and financial objectives.  Serves as a member of the company’s leadership team and participates in board meetings. 

 

SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHP

 

Supervises, leads, and develops the Controller, Credit Manager, Administration Staff, and other direct reports.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Engages in corporate decision making as a member of leadership staff.  Reports operating results to the General Manager and Board of Directors on a regular basis.

 

Provides consultative support on strategic and operational initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations.  Leverages technology and business partnerships in pursuit of company initiatives.  Studies market trends and projections.

 

Evaluates, arranges, and negotiates all financing to meet the corporate needs and objectives. Develops and maintains a thorough knowledge of financial markets and financial institutions. Works with staff to develop and maintain relationships with financial institutions through professional image, activities, and communications.

 

Leads annual budgeting process.  Establishes, implements, and monitors short- and long-range company-wide and departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.

 

Oversees the general ledger, account maintenance, and data entry.  Prepares and interprets financial statements, financial reports, special analyses, and information reports.

 

Responsible for development, implementation, and management of the integrity and effectiveness of company risk management system to identify, assess, monitor, report, control and finance risk from all business operations. 

 

Supports leadership staff and the Board of Directors with a deep knowledge of agriculture industry, general economy, financial markets, and risks associated with business operations.

 

Responsible for evaluating, procuring, and supporting necessary enterprise hardware and software.

 

Supervises, leads, and develops the business administration staff.

 

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Attains and maintains technical and sales skills to certification standards.

 

Follows Three Rivers FS’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

 

Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or Experience             

Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Daily independent travel within the trade area with occasional overnight stays.

 

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

 

Scope

Responsible for own work and may provide some directions to others; exercises some control over expenses and generation of revenues; makes budgetary recommendations.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumferences, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

Certificates, Licenses Registrations

Must obtain the appropriate drivers license for the type of vehicle that will be required to operate in order to perform all the duties assigned prior to employment and to maintain that license throughout the length of employment.

 

Materials, Equipment and Software Used

Must have a working knowledge of applicable company computer programs.
