Ag‑Land FS is a full-service agricultural cooperative proudly supporting farmers, rural businesses, and communities across Central Illinois. We are seeking a motivated, customer‑focused Petroleum Salesman to join our Energy Division and serve customers throughout Peoria County, Illinois.
This role blends sales, service, and delivery support for farm and commercial energy customers in the Peoria County territory.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with farm, commercial, and rural residential customers in Peoria County.
- Identify customer energy needs and provide tailored solutions for diesel, gasoline, DEF, lubricants, and tank/equipment offerings.
- Develop and execute a sales plan to prospect new accounts, expand market share, and support existing customers.
- Make organized sales calls, document customer interactions, and maintain regular follow-ups.
- Coordinate with dispatch/operations to ensure accurate and timely deliveries and top-tier customer service.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of Ag‑Land FS petroleum, lubricant, DEF products, equipment, and related services.
- Monitor market trends, commodity pricing, and agricultural energy demands to support value‑added sales.
- Participate in local ag events, customer meetings, and community engagement on behalf of Ag‑Land FS.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid CDL Class A with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements required — or the ability to obtain these endorsements within a defined period.
- Clean and insurable driving record.
- Experience in agriculture, petroleum, or rural energy sales preferred.
- Strong customer‑service mindset with the ability to build long‑term relationships.
- Self‑motivated, organized, and capable of working independently across a defined sales territory.
- Strong communication, problem‑solving, and time‑management skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and meet the physical requirements of farm and commercial site visits.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive base salary with commission‑based compensation — base salary range: $60,000-$80,000 + range, depending on experience, territory performance, and sales volume.
- Commission-based position. Commission earned will affect overall compensation for this position.

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to base pay, certain roles may be eligible for bonuses, incentives, and commissions.
