SALARY RANGE: $18 – $20 / hr
PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT
The Fast Stop Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing repairs, preventive maintenance, and facility upkeep across Fast Stop convenience store locations. This position ensures that all stores, fuel equipment, and facilities remain in safe working condition and meet company standards for safety, cleanliness, and functionality.
The technician will work closely with store managers, the energy department, and company leadership to identify maintenance needs, respond to service requests, and complete repairs efficiently to minimize store downtime.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Facility and Store Maintenance:
- Perform general building maintenance including minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting, and fixture repairs.
- Repair doors, locks, windows, shelving, counters, and other store fixtures.
- Replace lighting, ceiling tiles, and other building components as needed.
- Maintain parking lots, exterior lighting, signage, and store grounds when needed.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Install, repair, and replace defective parts using hand tools and power tools.
- Troubleshoot and repair store equipment including coffee machines, ice machines, and food service equipment.
- Inspect equipment regularly and perform preventive maintenance to reduce equipment failures and downtime.
Fuel and Petroleum Equipment:
- Assist with maintenance and service of fuel dispensing equipment, pumps, card readers, and related systems.
- Support maintenance of underground and above-ground fuel storage systems and associated components.
- Perform basic tasks such as replacing nozzles, hoses, filters, and monitoring fuel equipment performance.
- Clean spill buckets once a week at each location.
Preventive Maintenance and Inspections:
- Conduct scheduled weekly store visits to inspect facilities and equipment.
- Identify maintenance issues before they become major repairs.
- Complete preventive maintenance tasks including lubrication, filter changes, and equipment inspections.
- Maintain compliance with safety and operational standards.
Communication and Coordination:
- Work closely with location managers to identify and resolve maintenance issues.
- Communicate repair updates and maintenance needs with the Energy Manager and management team.
- Respond to maintenance service requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Document completed maintenance activities and report ongoing issues.
Inventory and Tools:
- Maintain maintenance vehicle, tools, and equipment required for daily operations.
- Track and maintain inventory of repair parts and maintenance supplies.
- Work with the Energy Manager to ensure necessary equipment and replacement parts are stocked.
Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all company safety rules and operational procedures.
- Comply with EHS, OSHA, DOT, and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain safe work practices when handling equipment, fuel systems, or electrical components.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with environmental and safety regulations.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Maintain professional appearance and follow company dress code standards.
- Obtain and maintain Class A, B, or C license as required to satisfy fire marshal requirements at unmanned stations. (Preferred)
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Normally requires a high school diploma or the equivalent thereof, and 3 years of related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid driver’s license is required.

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to base pay, certain roles may be eligible for bonuses, incentives, and commissions.
