PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT
The purpose of this position is to assist in daily operational duties at the facility. Operates commercial sprayer or floater for the purpose of applying crop inputs to the producer field. In addition, it operates and maintains single or tandem axle trucks and other equipment. Performs all job functions in a timely and accurate manner to increase customer satisfaction and maintain the reputation and profitability of the organization.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Responsible for maintaining operations at retail supply location and following maintenance schedule of facility and equipment.
Responsible for inventory and distribution of products along with making delivery of customer products as requested.
Stocks and moves warehouse product and material, loads and unloads containers, pallets, or materials and products, safely on/off trucks, trailers, or railcars while ensuring products are evenly balanced and distributed on trucks/trailers and proper axle weights are met.
Assists both full-time and part-time operations personnel.
Assists Crop Specialists and Precision Farming Team with installations, data, mapping and other internal and external customer needs.
Maintains the facility and equipment image.
Assists in obtaining goals by improving efficiency and reducing costs.
Works with location manager on all safety and compliance issues.
Demonstrates knowledge of and the ability to safely operate sprayers, floaters, single or tandem axle trucks and other equipment to meet company and DOT standards.
Performs and records daily safety checks of assigned vehicle(s) and associated equipment by conducting pre-trip inspections, such as checking fuel and oil levels, inspecting tires, lights, and brakes.
Assure all products are accounted for with either an invoice or delivery ticket.
Essential Duties:
Responsible for maintaining, repairing, rebuilding, and/or servicing location equipment, vehicles, and structures as needed.
Tool Bar Maintenance & Servicing:
Inspects, repairs, and maintains anhydrous tool bars to ensure safe and efficient operation. Performs pre-season and post-season service, including hose replacement, valve inspection, leak checks, and calibration.
Weigh Wagon Operation & Calibration:
Prepares and operates weigh wagons for field testing and calibration purposes. Ensures accuracy in data collection and assists agronomy and sales teams in yield measurement and verification.
Anhydrous Ammonia Operations:
Assists with anhydrous ammonia operations during the season, including the setup, filling, and safe handling of tanks. Performs regular maintenance and inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Participates in loading, unloading, and transporting anhydrous ammonia equipment while adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
Seasonal Equipment Preparation:
Performs pre-season setup and post-season winterization of applicators, sprayers, tool bars, and related machinery. Ensures all equipment is properly cleaned, maintained, and stored to prolong service life and minimize downtime.
General Mechanical Support:
Troubleshoots mechanical issues, performs routine service tasks, and coordinates with service teams for major repairs.
Keeps accurate maintenance and service records for all assigned equipment.
Customer Service Support:
Assists customers with product loading, equipment setup, and operational questions. Represents Three Rivers FS with professionalism and a strong customer service focus.
Follows Three Rivers Company Policies, GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Positions at this level have not been formally assigned supervisory responsibility. Employees are responsible only for the performance of their own assigned work. They may be asked to train new employees in the scope of this position.
Performs all other duties assigned by the manager.
REQUIREMENTS
Normally requires a high school diploma or the equivalent thereof, and 0-2 years of related work experience.
Must be able to acquire and maintain a Class A CDL license with required endorsements, a satisfactory driving record, and a valid medical card.
Must be able to have and maintain all required pesticide or fertilizer applicator licenses or certifications in states where crop production inputs are applied. Responsible for renewing licenses or certifications as required and reporting status of licenses or certifications to the Location Manager.
Ability to work extended hours and on-call as business conditions warrant.
Occasionally exposed or required to:
- Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.)
- Noisy conditions
- Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards, requiring utilization of appropriate safety measures
- May be required to work at varying heights
- Lift 51 - 70 lbs.
Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on Three Rivers’ policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position
