PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Duties include billing, posting payments, maintaining inventory, and assisting customers. Project a professional company image through in-person and phone interaction.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Perform billing functions, including making blend tickets, invoicing customers, posting payments, and preparing daily cash deposits.

 

Assist in maintaining a perpetual inventory of all products (fuel, propane, fertilizer, chemical, and seed).

 

Answer telephones and respond to customer inquiries.

 

Act as liaison for salesmen and customers.

 

Able to work with company software and Microsoft Office products.

 

Perform general clerical duties to include but not limited to: photocopying, faxing, mailing, and filing.

 

Support staff in assigned project-based work.

 

Exercise initiatives or as directed, perform additional duties to meet the needs of the organization.

 

All other duties as assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

Positions at this level have no formally assigned supervisory responsibility. Employees are responsible only for the performance of their own assigned work. They may be asked to train new employees in the fundamentals of the job or to participate in cross-training of other employees in the department, but such assignments do not include the on-going authority to assign and review work of other employees or to recommend or take corrective action with regard to other employees’ performance

Education and/or Experience

Knowledge of standardized rules, procedures or operations requiring considerable training and experience to perform the full range of standard assignments and resolve reoccurring problems. Associates Degree plus 1 – 3 years of prior experience.

Responsible for own work only; some direct or indirect control over expenses and revenue generation; may make some budgetary recommendations; accountable for results of own work.

 

Guidelines

Number and similarity of guidelines requires use of independent judgment in locating and selecting the most appropriate guidelines or reference; some interpretation required.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

This position does not require any specialized certificates, licenses or registration.

 

Materials, Equipment and Software Used

General knowledge of office computers and operating systems.

 

Physical Demands

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. The work may occasional require physical activity such as climbing ladders and lifting heavy objects (50+ pounds).

 

Work Environment

The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, residences, commercial vehicles, or outdoors, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls and observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc.
