Summary/Objective:
Responsible for maintaining, repairing and problem-solving facility and its mechanical equipment while following OHSA guidelines to provide a safe working environment to all employees. Will be required to help the Grain Facility Associates complete tasks as needed.
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Effectively and safely operate standard maintenance tools such as power tools, basic hand tools and basic welding equipment.
- Maintain and repair facility equipment and machinery such as belt conveyors, grain legs, hydraulics, carpentry work, welding/fabricating, vehicle maintenance and some electrical.
- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Responsible for preventive maintenance program of the facility including logging of PMs completed electronically.
- Follow OHSA safety rules and regulations as well as Legacy’s policies and procedures. Help to develop proper safety techniques.
- Assist the Grain Facility Associates in completing tasks such as housekeeping, railcar loading and harvest operations.
- Work with the Branch Manager to operate the facility to the best of its efficiency while being financially responsible and suggest improvements/repairs that need to be made.
Requirements:
- High school degree or equivalent, with additional skilled labor/maintenance background
- Proof of and maintaining a safe driving record is a condition of employment and will be certified and monitored by LFC’s insurance provider
- Ability to work independently and as a team to complete projects
- Possesses flexibility and adaptability in meeting constraints and demands
- Ability to read and follow detailed directions
- Basic computer skills
- Position requires a full range of body motion including bending, squatting and twisting, must be able to lift up to 75 lbs and reach with hands and arms above shoulders.
Miscellaneous Information & Preferred Experience:
- Standard work week is Monday through Friday; needs of the business during harvest will dictate exceptions to this standard; no over night travel
- Applicants agree to be drug tested as a condition of employment and will not be hired should he/she fail to produce a negative test
- Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical schematics as well as blue prints
- Other duties as assigned
