Warehouse Manager - Prairieland FS - Franklin, IL

COMPANY: Prairieland FS


LOCATION: Franklin, IL



Warehouse manager will work under the supervision of the crops department manager and the location manager.





Keep and maintain warehouse facilities and inventories.


Keep an inventory of items sold through the warehouse facility.


Make timely orders of merchandise to sell as seasonal activities permit.


Keep inventories in salable condition.


Develop programs to avoid obsolete inventory.


Work with crop specialist to verify and track seed bookings.


Know present customers and their purchasing history.


Sell seed to walk-in customers.


Be knowledgeable about food plot seed and fertility and make recommendations to customers.


Knows product lines for seeds and recommended uses.


Other duties as required.



Other Requirements:


Submit required reports promptly; daily, weekly, monthly.


Keep inventory reports current.


Keep a running inventory of seed corn and soybeans.


Project a good image of company with appearance and cleanliness of the warehouse facility.


Display positive attitude and enthusiasm in dealing with customers.


Support company credit policies. Attend meetings as required.





Education and Experience


Normally requires a high school degree, or the equivalent thereof, and 2 years or more of related work experience.


Must be able to attain a commercial seed treatment license.



Functional Competencies


Proven professional communication and customer service skills and the ability to comprehend simple instructions and communicate one-on-one and in small groups with customers and other employees.


Demonstrated time management and basic math skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals along with the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


Proven ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.


Understanding of basic computer skills as they relate to business.

Other Requirements


Must have or have the ability to obtain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.


Continuously exposed or required to:

 Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.)

 Noisy conditions

 Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures.

 Lift 70-100 lbs.

 Pushy heavy objects


Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.


Ability to work hours other than those considered normal to meet seasonal demands
