Job Description
Looking for Experienced Carpenter in North West IL area
SALARY: $20-$23 / hour based on experience
SUMMARY:
Involves many facets of the building process that would include plan reading, operating specialized equipment, operation of numerous hand and power tools, basic wood framing, installation of various siding and roofing materials including hi-rib steel, shingles, wood sidings and mortar less masonry units.
Constructs quality building projects that are profitable and Delivers a Better Building Experience to the customer. Helps create a construction team that promotes safety and positive attitude. Develops an atmosphere for setting and meeting goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Efficiently execute tasks needed to complete a quality building including but not limited to: digging and installing footings, framing walls and roof structures, installing windows, entry and other doors and door openings, Overhead Doors, installing various siding and roofing materials.
- Keep current with and apply OSHA safety and construction procedures, methods, and standards to every building.
- Perform and promote safe and proper use and maintenance of all tools and equipment

- Provide professional leadership by creating a safe, organized work environment that is productive and enjoyable and treat all employees and customers with dignity and respect.
- Learn Construction Procedure Manual
Provide the construction expertise, organizational and communication skills necessary to complete quality building projects profitably.
Lead by personal example and require cooperation by all crew employees in timely starts and stops.
Work effectively with crew members in a way which provides opportunities for success.
Complete all required paperwork
CDL license recommended, required for fulltime status
Able to get crane certification for fixed cab crane
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Ability to lift 90 lbs. to shoulder, push 150 lbs. overhead, pull 65 lbs. and pull with long finger grasp 30lbs. frequently.
Ability to work on high areas of construction project.
Skills needed to operate construction hand tools and read building plans.
Established organizational and planning skills
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Prior work in the construction industry.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and write English
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work will involve various situations that will include high climbing and heavy lifting of objects.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Individuals will work in various types of weather conditions (hot and cold).
