IT Specialist

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Under the direction of the IT Manager, responsible for coordinating company's IT, voice, and data communications systems. 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Provides technical support and problem resolution for information systems.

Configures, installs, and supports microcomputer hardware and software.

Assists and maintains accurate IT records.  Monitors Equipment replacement needs

Communicate regularly with Agronomy & Energy Departments on their software/technology applications and needs. 

Evaluates and supports Company’s voice and data communication systems.

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Prepares monthly status reports, project summaries, and technical recommendations.

 

Provides employee training regarding use of system standard hardware and software.

 

Orders, tracks and supports wireless communication devices.

 

Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Normally requires a Bachelor’s degree in business or computer science and two or more years of IT related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of information systems technologies.  

Demonstrated essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Frequently required to lift 21 – 50 pounds.

Must be able to work hours beyond those considered normal.

Ability to travel independently and overnight.

Ability and willingness to participate in required training.

Occasionally exposed or required to:

 

  • Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, snow, ice, etc.)
  • Noisy conditions
  • Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures
  • May be required to work at varying heights
  • Lift 51 - 70 lbs.
