Job Title: Agronomy Operations Technician
Department: Agronomy
Reports To: Agronomy Manager
Pay Range: $42,000 - $62,000
Position Summary : the Agronomy Operations Technician plays a key role in the day-to-day operations of the cooperative’s agronomy department. This position is primarily responsible for operating the liquid and Dry fertilizer loading facility, accurately mixing and handling crop protection products and fertilizers, maintaining a safe and clean work environment, managing warehouse inventory, and supporting overall agronomy operations as a dependable team member.
Key Responsibilities • Operate the liquid and dry loading facility efficiently and safely • Accurately mix, load, and handle herbicides, pesticides, and liquid & Dry fertilizers according to labels, company procedures, and regulations • Follow all safety, environmental, and compliance requirements (EPA, OSHA, state regulations) • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment in the shop, warehouse, and surrounding areas • Manage and track warehouse inventory, including receiving, storing, rotating, and documenting products • Assist with inventory counts and reporting as required • Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on equipment, pumps, hoses, and facilities • Identify equipment issues and report major repairs to management • Assist other agronomy team members during peak seasons as needed • Promote teamwork, positive communication, and a cooperative-first attitude Qualifications & Skills • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred) • Experience in agronomy, chemical handling, or agricultural operations is preferred but not required • Ability to safely handle chemicals and fertilizers • Strong attention to detail and accuracy • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Mechanical aptitude and basic equipment maintenance skills • Willingness to obtain and maintain applicable certifications/licenses (e.g., pesticide applicator ,CDL license )
