JOB TITLE: Crop Specialist & Equipment Dispatcher for Calhoun County
REPORTS TO: TriCounty FS Sales Manager
Salary Range: $60,000-$85,000, including all commissions and bonuses
PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT: Serves as the primary sales contact for customers and prospects in Calhoun County, IL, building strong relationships and delivering tailored solutions. Works closely with operations and support teams to ensure a seamless customer experience from sale through delivery and billing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supporting Crop Sales Through Strong Customer Service:
Builds and maintains strong customer relationships while growing sales with existing and prospective customers.
Develops and executes sales plans to identify opportunities, acquire new business, and strengthen customer loyalty.
Provides agronomic recommendations, field scouting services, and technical support to help customers maximize crop performance and return on investment.
Maintains accurate customer records and utilizes agronomy technology tools to support informed decision-making.
Collaborates with internal teams to address customer needs, resolve concerns, and deliver exceptional service.
Providing Competitive Analysis:
Develops strategies designed to target specific competitor’s weak areas.
Is knowledgeable about FS product lines and how they compare to competitor products.
Informs management of changes with how competitors price, market and offer services.
Managing Agronomy Equipment Dispatch:
Takes product orders from patrons and immediately communicates necessary information to operations team members to ensure timely delivery.
Administering Credit Policy:
Subscribes to and supports the administration of the company credit policy, including checking credit ratings of prospects before conducting sales interviews.
Explains the company credit policy to all new customers, collecting account information according to company policy.
OTHER DUTIES / Expectations:
Helps support operations activities, including delivery, when needed – especially during busy seasons.
Maintains a professional appearance, including dressing neatly and cleanly, and being well groomed.
Maintains orderly, clean company vehicles and equipment to ensure safe and proper operating conditions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Requires a high school diploma, or equivalent, and 1-2 years of experience related to the position.
Must have or be willing to obtain an Illinois Commercial Pesticide Applicators License with a field crops endorsement.
Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), HAZMAT/TANKER endorsements, medical DOT card, and satisfactory driving record.
Demonstrated essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
Frequently exposed to extreme weather conditions.
Working conditions often include exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, electrical hazards, and occasionally require work at varying heights, with appropriate safety equipment.
Frequently required to lift 50lbs – 70lbs.
Must be able to travel independently and overnight.
Must be willing to work hours beyond those considered “normal.”

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to base pay, certain roles may be eligible for bonuses, incentives, and commissions.
