PAY RANGE: $19.00 to $25.00 / hour 

 

In addition to base pay, you may be eligible for overtime, commission, performance-based increases, and bonuses.

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Prairieland FS, Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist who is responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy through monitoring, auditing, and maintaining inventory records. This role supports warehouse and operational functions by investigating discrepancies, coordinating inventory counts, and optimizing inventory control processes to ensure accurate financial reporting.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

  • Counts materials, equipment, merchandise, or supplies in stock and posts total inventory records.
  • Compares inventories to office records or computes figures from records such as sales orders, production records, or purchase invoices to obtain current inventory.
  • Reconciles inventory transactions, including receipts, transfers, adjustments, and shipments.
  • Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in inventory reporting.
  • Prepares work papers for audits of company accounts.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional departments to resolve inventory-related issues.
  • Verifies clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation or count, then investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.
  • Prepares reports required by the government and regulatory agencies.
  • Assists with year-end physical inventory counts and external audits.
  • Performs office production and procedures while promoting the efficiency of workflow.
  • Enters transactions into the software systems, validating all required documentation to support the transaction.
  • Enters, organizes, and maintains accurate data within the software systems.
  • Implements operational adjustments due to tax code revisions.
  • Follows all company safety standards and regulatory requirements related to inventory handling.
  • Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
  • Assists customers by providing accurate information, resolving inquiries, and directing calls to the appropriate department when needed.

REQUIREMENTS

 

Education and Experience

 

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or business preferred but not required.
  • Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Ability to use the computer and “attention to detail” skills and use the computer to enhance business processes.

  • Ability to work hours other than those considered normal at various times throughout the year to meet deadlines and demands.
  • The role requires local travel to other company locations or industry events, with the ability to travel independently 8+ days a month and return home the same day.
  • Must be willing to travel independently and overnight occasionally.
  • Ability and willingness to participate in required training, including education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training related to the position’s requirements.
