PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Oversees the profitable sales and marketing of all feed products within the division, including management of related accounts receivable. 

 

 

SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP

 

Supervises and develops all Feed Sales Specialists and support personnel within the division.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Communicates effectively with team members in the Feed & Grain Department.

 

Coordinate pricing strategies for all sales territories in conjunction with the Feed & Grain Department Manager and associated accounting personnel.

 

Forecasts products that support marketing strategies and communicates effectively with the Production & Logistics Manager.

 

Responsible for analyzing market conditions to identify strengths, weaknesses, and inform effective marketing strategies.

 

Identifies key characteristics and demographics of livestock and dairy producers within the trade area.

 

Responsible for development, implementation and evaluation of annual feed marketing plans including budgets, strategies, promotions and controls.

 

Creates and utilizes internally generated marketing information.

 

Implements recommended training programs.

 

Implements and supports company credit policies.

 

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

 

 

Responsible for interpreting marketing reports, technical information and other market data to effectively disseminate information & recommendations to customers.

 

Conducts on-site farm visits with existing and prospective customers and builds strong relationships with key trade associations.

 

Coordinates and facilitates timely, relevant meetings to support feed team communication and alignment.

 

Effectively supports, implements and lives out the FS Way Service Excellence Standards.

 

Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Normally requires a bachelor’s degree in business or animal nutrition related field or the equivalent thereof, and 3 years or more of related work experience to demonstrate planning, organization, problem solving, project management skills and computer proficiency.

 

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

 

Utilizes technology, including Microsoft Office programs and proprietary software, to enhance business processes.

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.

 

Ability to work extended hours.

 

Ability to travel independently and overnight.

 

Occasionally exposed or required to:

 

  • Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, snow, ice, etc.)
  • Noisy conditions
  • Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures
  • May be required to work at varying heights
  • Lift 51 - 70 lbs.

 

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
