PAY RANGE: $16 - $21 / hour

Compensation is determined based on your experience and qualifications.

In addition to base pay, you may be eligible for overtime, commission, performance-based increases, and bonuses.

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

The Structure Construction Laborer is responsible for performing a variety of physical and manual tasks to assist in the construction, maintenance, repair of structures, and other infrastructure projects.

This role involves handling materials, operating tools and equipment, preparing job sites, and supporting skilled tradespeople to ensure efficient project completion while maintaining safety standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Clear and prepare construction sites by removing debris, digging trenches, and setting up equipment.
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment to designated areas.
  • Assist in mixing, pouring, and spreading concrete, asphalt, and other building materials.
  • Assist with framing, formwork, scaffolding, and structural assembly.
  • Independently climb ladders and accurately measure and square projects while constructing commercial or agricultural buildings and grain systems.
  • Use hand and power tools to cut, shape, and install building materials.
  • Support carpenters, masons, welders, and other skilled tradespeople as needed.
  • Operate basic construction machinery (backhoe, compactors, drills, forklifts, jackhammers, saws, scissor lift, trencher, various power, and other operating tools).
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment.
  • Follow safety protocols while using heavy machinery and lifting materials.
  • Adhere to OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards at all times.
  • Wear and maintain Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including helmets, gloves, and safety boots.
  • Identify, report, and mitigate potential hazards on the job site.
  • Efficiently and safely complete the job within the required timeframe.
  • Maintain a clean and hazard-free job site.

REQUIREMENTS

Educations and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) or more years of related work experience demonstrating knowledge of construction skills, including a basic understanding of construction tools, materials, and safety practices.
  • The role involves physical labor, including operating heavy machinery and equipment and lifting and moving heavy objects for loading and unloading.
  • The capability to understand basic instructions.
  • Understanding of basic computer skills as they relate to business.
