Job Title: Convenience Store Manager
Location: Marion, IL
Reports to: District Manager / Owner

Job Summary:

The Convenience Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store to ensure efficient, profitable, and customer-focused service. This position manages employees, maintains inventory levels, ensures compliance with company policies, and fosters a safe, clean, and welcoming store environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
  • Supervise, train, and schedule store employees
  • Deliver excellent customer service, addressing customer inquiries and resolving complaints
  • Maintain inventory levels, order stock, and minimize shrinkage
  • Ensure proper merchandising, cleanliness, and organization of the store
  • Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to achieve sales targets
  • Handle cash management, bank deposits, and store financial records accurately
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and legal regulations
  • Maintain fuel operations (if applicable), ensuring the equipment is functioning properly
  • Conduct regular inspections to uphold store standards

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred)
  • Prior retail management or supervisory experience, preferably in convenience or fuel retail
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage inventory, order supplies, and control costs
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with point-of-sale systems

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs as needed
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of convenience store operations
  • Familiarity with food safety standards (if applicable)
  • Experience with fuel systems and compliance (if applicable)

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.  In addition to base pay, certain roles may be eligible for bonuses, incentives, and commissions.
