Salary Range: $19.00 - $23.00/ Hour
SUMMARY STATEMENT
Wabash Valley Service Co is seeking a Liquid Fuel/Propane Service Technician to be responsible for the following activities: deliver, set and install propane tanks and outside lines and regulators, conduct system checks and purge cylinders and tanks, repair and maintain company equipment and perform final inspections consistent with Company standards, install liquid fuel tanks and pumps and provide service on the same as necessary.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for adherence to all company and government safety and regulatory policies to maintain zero preventable accidents.
- Maintain safety and compliance records.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot liquid fuel/propane gas and distribution systems.
- Repair and maintain company equipment such as pumps, regulators, and lines. Set repair and maintain tanks and cylinders, install outside lines, conduct system tests, and perform system inspections. Purge propane cylinders and tanks, fill storage containers and perform basic outside leak repair.
- Responsible for maintaining department equipment and vehicles for safe and proper operating condition.
- Operate service vehicle in accordance with Company regulations. Follow dispatch policy, plan, and procedures. Coordinated with dispatcher to confirm route.
- Be available for emergency calls.
- Communicate clearly and effectively to convey information to new and existing customers.
- Maintain a professional image and superior customer service.
- Succeed in a team environment.
- Estimate jobs and obtain required permits when necessary.
- Must also complete required job training.

- Basic computer skills and the ability to utilize technology.
- Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

- May be required to drive to run local errands as needed.

REQUIREMENTS
- Normally requires a high school diploma or the equivalent thereof, and/or 1-2 years of related work experience to demonstrate knowledge and skills regarding liquid fuel/propane systems.
- Must have or acquire CDL license with at least a Class B with X endorsements, Class A is preferred. Must meet applicable state and federal licensing and certification requirements.
- Understanding of liquid fuel/propane distribution systems attained though training provided or already acquired.
- Demonstrated essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
- Must be able to travel independently and overnight.
- Ability to work hours other than those considered normal to meet seasonal demands.
- Continuously exposed or required to:
- Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc)
- Noisy conditions
- Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures
- May be required to work at varying heights
- Confined spaces
- Lift 51-70 lbs.
- Required to push heavy objects
