Pod Operations Manager - FS GRAIN - Mendota, IL
FS GRAIN is a leading grain company with 80 full time employees operating in Northern Illinois. FS GRAIN operates 19 facilities with a combined storage capacity of 40 million bushels, and access to multiple grain markets, including ownership of two Class I shuttle loaders. SALARY: $65,000-$85,000
PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT
Under the direction of the Operations Manager, is responsible for elevator operations including grain handling, safety and maintenance, rolling stock, and customer service for the assigned facility(ies). This position is responsible for the operations at the Fitchmoor (Mendota), Ohio, and Buda facilities.
SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP
Supervises and directs all operations employees at the assigned facility(ies).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Develops plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees.
Reviews product quality, and modifies operation and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operations.
Responsible for compliance with OSHA, state, and federal safety regulations and maintenance and professional appearance of equipment, rolling stock and facilities.
Oversees inventory management including monthly inventory measurement to comply with state mandate and company policy.
Communicate job expectations including planning, monitoring, appraising and reviewing job performance.
Plan and review compensation actions; enforcing employee guidelines and procedures.
Resolve problems arising from employee conflict or operation failures. Identify trends in both employee and operational management.
Coordinates the purchasing of facility equipment and supplies for the repair and maintenance of facilities.
Coordinates with Safety Manager for effective safety training for all employees.
Recommends or approves expenditures and appropriations to optimize profitability.

Performs all other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Normally requires 3 years or more of operations related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of planning, organization, problem solving, project management and computer proficiency.
Demonstrates essential abilities including collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
Ability to work extended hours as business conditions warrant.
Ability to travel independently and overnight.
Occasionally exposed or required to:
- Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.)
- Noisy conditions
- Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures
- Work at varying heights including climbs on grain bins, legs, etc.
- Lift 51 - 70 lbs.

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to base pay, certain roles may be eligible for bonuses, incentives, and commissions.
