PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT
Collects, investigates, and verifies financial information to determine credit worthiness of customers and prospective clients. Assists Credit/Agri-Finance Manager with effectively managing accounts and collection activities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Collects and processes financial information for the purpose of investigating and verifying financial status and reputation of prospective customers applying for credit, preparing documents to substantiate findings.
Prepares reports for management on credit and collection activities.
Reviews delinquent account records to determining which customers must be contacted for collection of overdue accounts.
Verifies accuracy of accounts.
Drafts correspondence for use in collection attempts and applies appropriate telephone techniques or customer visits to manage collection activities when necessary.
Addresses and handles credit inquiries, requests, and complaints from customers and/or company field personnel.
Assists Credit/Agri-finance Manager with the management all other credit and collection functions. Serves as the back-up to the Credit/Agri-finance Manager during times when the Credit/Agri-finance Manager may be away from work.
Required to organize collection work according to degree and amount of delinquency for collection.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Supports and contributes to total company goals and objectives through collaboration efforts.
Responsible for adhering to the company uniform policy, and maintains the appropriate professional image.
May be required to process monthly statements.
Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Normally requires an Associate’s Degree in accounting, finance or business management or the equivalent thereof, and 2 years or more of credit and/or finance related work experience to demonstrate knowledge.
Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
Prefer an understanding of GROWMARK System credit and agri-finance administration processes and Systems.
Prefer an understanding of agriculture.
Must be able to obtain and maintain all applicable training, permits, and certifications.
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, maintain a clean driving record and have the ability to travel independently and overnight
Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
