WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

This position will be tasked with some of the following key objectives:

  • Collaborate with store team to develop strategies for achieving daily/weekly/monthly sales goals
  • Work with customers on concerns or challenges, as well as looking for opportunities for new accounts and market growth
  • Implement and maintain staffing needs and scheduling
  • Serve as subject matter expert for merchandise and services within the store
  • Manage proper product usage, drive inventory counts and management of supplies – anticipating customer needs and market demands

 

Some positions will have the following work environment qualities.

  • This position will predominantly be located inside of our store, but may work outdoors when assisting with the nursery or helping with the warehouse
  • Ability to bend, stoop, lift, push and pull to help with product movement, as well as operating a pallet jack will be required

For this role, we are looking for talent that can bring to the table the following.

A combination of completed coursework OR degree completion and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of years of experience or education required.

 

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

 

Required Experience:

  • At least 5 years of retail management experience, preferably in agriculture or farm store operations, with specialized knowledge of related merchandise & services
  • At least 5 years of experience in a demonstrated leadership position; direct supervision of a team
  • Prefer at least 10 years in agriculture management, preferably in retail
  • Prefer experience within agriculture, i.e., farming, growing, farm management, etc.
  • Able and willing to work Saturdays when/if needed (especially during seasonal demands)
  • A valid Driver’s License
  • Willing to train and obtain Forklift Certification & Propane Dispensing through on the job training
  • A passion and enthusiasm to work with our cooperative customers to help improve and overcome any challenges related to their needs
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • A knack for relationship building and problem-solving
  • A desire to learn, grow and work as a cross-functional team member with other divisions
