PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Responsible to consult with customers regarding surface preparation, paint products, and application of paint products.

Ability to prepare surfaces and custom apply paint using power washer and spray painting equipment to paint barns, grain bins, and other structures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Operate power washer to remove old paint and dirt from building to prepare buildings for painting.
• Operate spray-painting equipment to apply correct amounts of primer and finish coats of paint.
• Hand scrape and wire brush trim areas to include windows and doors.
• Do hand painting of trim and at times total buildings.
• Operate boom truck to reach high areas to clean and apply paint.
• Mix and tint paints to directions provided.
• Maintain assigned equipment in top working condition with recommended maintenance and care; this includes cleaning after each job.
• Report problems with recommendations to supervisor
• Practice safety at all times in custom painting.
• Work in other departments and location in the company as assigned

Education/Experience

• Prior experience in operation of power washer and spray-painting preferred. Prior experience in exceptional trim work preferred.

Requirements

• Must have and maintain a valid CDL (Commercial Drivers Licenses) with the ability to operate a standard transmission
• Must be able to climb and work from a ladder and boom truck. Not afraid of heights.
• Learn the basic information of paints used to include mixing and application within one month on the job.
• Provide transportation to job site in Monroe and Randolph Counties when requested.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide to measure and mix paint.
• Occasionally required to lift more than 100 pounds.
• Able to work in extreme heat. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts or is exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
