PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

  • To support Ag-Lands energy department market share and savings, improve Ag-Lands efficiency, help achieve Ag-Lands mission and goals, and provide outstanding customer service.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

  • Sales, service, installation, maintenance and repair for energy department tanks and miscellaneous items
  • Propane Cylinder Sales
  • Be knowledgeable and use resources to make proper recommendations on installation of products and services sold.
  • Attend product and service related training sessions.
  • Maintain product inventory.
  • Responsible for timely work orders and making sure billing department has correct information.
  • Make delivers of products.
  • Continuously evaluate our equipment suppliers on timeliness, price and overall service provided.
  • Be able and willing to take and pass all CETP training programs offered by Illinois Propane Gas Association.
  • Have working knowledge of industry standards (Pamphlets 54,58) 
  • Must be able to obtain CDL with all required endorsements.
  • Follow Ag-Land credit policy when making sales calls.
  • Maintains company vehicle, performs basic maintenance as needed.

  • Understanding of all propane products along with sales ability, record keeping and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and in team-oriented environment.
  • Proven professional communication, persuasion, presentation and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrate planning, organization, time management and problem solving skills.

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

 

  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Normally requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 1-2 years or more of sales experience to demonstrate strong reasoning ability to solve practical problems and handle customer inquiries and concerns.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazmat endorsement.
  • Demonstrated essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
  • Must be able to travel independently and overnight.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Must be willing to work hours beyond those considered “normal.”
  • Frequently exposed to extreme weather conditions. Working conditions may occasionally include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures.
