Applicator I/CDL Driver - Illini FS - Potomac, IL

Operates commercial sprayer or floater for the purpose of applying crop inputs to producer fields. Operates and maintains single or tandem axle trucks, multi-axle configuration trucks for delivery and/or pick-up of agronomy and/or energy products and other equipment.





<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Applies crop production inputs to fields and growing crops according to recommended rates, procedures, and following all pesticide labels 


<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Records application data according to regulations and standards


<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Sets up material handling, blending, storage, transport and application equipment for blending and delivery of products 


<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Blends products according to recommended rates and procedures


<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Demonstrates knowledge of and the ability to safely operate sprayers, floaters, single or tandem axle trucks and other equipment to meet company and DOT standards


<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Performs and records daily safety checks of assigned vehicle(s) and associated equipment by conducting pre-trip inspections, such as checking fuel and oil levels, inspecting tires, lights, and brakes 


<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Follows the preventative maintenance program and maintains a clean truck to present a professional appearance


<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Loads and unloads containers, pallets, or materials and products, safely on/off trucks, trailers, or railcars


<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ensures products are evenly balanced and distributed on trucks/trailers and proper axle weights are met


<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Responsible for the inventory control and turns in application records on a daily basis. 


<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Assures all product is accounted for with either an invoice or delivery ticket


<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ensures that all associated documentation, such as bills of lading, delivery slips, and invoices are completed accurately and returned to the branch location at the end of the day in order to ensure timely receiving and payment of invoices


Completes necessary paperwork, including accurate logbooks, records of cargo and any other assigned record-keeping duties on a daily basis





<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Responsible for maintaining, repairing, rebuilding, and/or servicing location equipment, vehicles, and structures as needed


Responsible for maintaining company equipment according to company standards, adheres to the company Uniform Policy, and maintains the appropriate professional image


<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Collects/records soil sample information using proper procedures


Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply


Performs all other duties as assigned





Normally requires a high school diploma or the equivalent thereof, and 2 years of related work experience


Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development


Must have or obtain and maintain a CDL license with required endorsements, a satisfactory driving record and valid medical card.


Must hold and maintain, or have the ability to obtain, all required pesticide or fertilizer applicator licenses or certifications in states where crop production inputs are applied 


Responsible for renewing licenses or certifications as required and reporting status of licenses or certifications to the Location Manager


<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ability to work extended hours and on-call as business conditions warrant


Occasionally exposed or required to: 

  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.)
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Noisy conditions
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards, requiring utilization of appropriate safety measures
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">May be required to work at varying heights
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Lift 51 - 70 lbs.
