REPORTS TO: Location Manager STATUS: Non-Exempt
Operates a single, tandem, or multi-axle configuration truck for delivery and pick-up of agronomy and energy products following specified time schedules to/from the company locations or customer locations to achieve profitable business growth.
- Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned vehicle.
- Performing daily truck maintenance (safety checks of assigned vehicle(s) and associated equipment by conducting pre-trip inspections, checking fuel and oil levels, and inspecting tires, lights, and brakes).
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
- Always ensure your vehicle is kept clean.
- Load and unload containers, pallets, materials, and products safely on trucks, trailers, and railcars by hand or forklift trucks. Securing cargo and properly arranging and balancing the distribution from the front of the trailer to the back and from side to side, as well as checking axle weights and loading them in accordance with the DOT regulations.
- Pick up and safely transport goods in a timely manner to promote superior customer service and professionalism within the company and the industry.
- Completing, storing, and submitting all necessary documentation (bill of ladings, delivery slips, and invoices) accurately and returning to the branch location at the end of the day to ensure timely receiving and payment of invoices.
- Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs (logbooks, cargo records, and other assigned record-keeping duties).
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for maintaining company equipment according to company standards, adhering to the company Uniform Policy, and maintaining the appropriate professional image.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Educations and Experience
Normally, it requires a high school diploma or equivalent and two (2) years or more of related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of and the ability to safely operate tractor-trailer or tender truck equipment and meet company and DOT standards.
Functional Competencies
- A valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) is required, as well as a CDL license with required endorsements and any other applicable certification, license, or permit, valid medical card, and satisfactory driving record, as applicable.
- Alert, focused and detail-oriented.
- Self-starter who works well independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to work extended hours and on-call as business conditions warrant.

Occasionally exposed or required to:
- Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.)
- Noisy conditions
- Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures
- May be required to work at varying heights
- Lift 51-70 lbs.
