Grain Safety Manager
PAY RANGE: $85,000 - $120,000 / Year
Compensation is determined based on your experience and qualifications.
In addition to base pay, you may be eligible for overtime, commission, and performance-based increases and bonuses.
REPORTS TO: General Manager STATUS: Exempt
PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT
Under the direction of the General Manager, this position is responsible for providing safety leadership, ensuring facilities and vehicles are in compliance with corporate safety standards, implementing safety directives, improving safety performance, and ensuring company safety policies and procedures are aligned with governmental safety and DOT regulations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Suggest solutions, improvements, and prevention steps for safety issues.
- Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety.
- Serve as the company resource regarding best work and safety practices.
- Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities, or new prevention measures for safety.
- Create and implement safe workplace health and safety plans and procedures.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to find the cause and take preventive measures for further incidents.
- Plans, implements, and conducts prevention, safety, and compliance training for grain standards, general industry standards, and trucking regulations.
- Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law.
- Conduct safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective actions, and implement follow-up assessments.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
- Knowledge and understanding of governmental safety and DOT regulations.
- Understanding and willingness to learn grain handling.
- Understanding and experience with mechanical diagnosis, service, repairs, maintenance, and upkeep of equipment and vehicles.
- Proven computer skills and the ability to use the computer to enhance business processes.
- Ability to continue to develop knowledge of safety regulations, programs, and industry best practices.
- OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications
- Perform related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
- Normally requires a college degree in Safety or Health, or a related field or the equivalent thereof.
- Normally required three (3) years or more of safety management-related work experience to demonstrate exposure to and knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements.

- Keep a Class D License and satisfactory driving record of driving company vehicles.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Exposed to grain dust and noise from grain probes, truck traffic, and elevator operation.
- Will work at varying heights, including climbs on grain bins, legs, etc.
- Exposed to extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.).
