Turf Operations Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Turf
REPORTS TO: Turf Specialist STATUS: Non-Exempt
SALARY: 45k -65k
PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT
Gold Star FS is seeking a Turf Operations Supervisor to lead daily operations at an assigned location. This role is responsible for supervising staff, managing inventory and product ordering, supporting sales, overseeing warehouse and plant operations, and ensuring excellent customer service. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced agricultural environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Supervise, train, and develop employees.
- Manage product ordering, pricing, inventory control, and shipping/receiving.
- Oversee warehouse operations, including unloading semis, pallet stacking, and equipment use.
- Coordinate and schedule product deliveries and application services.
- Lead plant operations including fertilizer blending/loading, ag chemical handling, and anhydrous ammonia operations.
- Provide sales support and customer service for turf, LP, fuel, and agricultural products.
- Handle customer transactions, invoicing, receiving reports, and business documentation.
- Deliver products using company trucks and trailers as needed.
- Maintain company facilities, vehicles, warehouse, and equipment.
- Perform LP and Fuel 24 paperwork and assist with station maintenance.
- Collaborate with management on budgeting, equipment upkeep, and operational planning.
- Support other locations during peak or seasonal demand.
- Ability to lift 51–70 lbs. regularly.
- Operate forklifts and skid steer loaders.
- Work in environments with dust, chemicals, noise, electrical hazards, and varying heights.
- Outdoor work in hot, cold, wet, snowy, and icy conditions.
- All other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Associate’s Degree in agriculture, business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management, product ordering, logistics, and agricultural products.
- Valid CDL with hazmat endorsement or willingness to obtain.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer systems.
- Ability to work extended hours, on-call schedules, and in extreme weather conditions.
