St. Anne Operations Manager - FS Grain - St. Anne, IL

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Under the direction of the Operations Manager, is responsible for elevator operations including grain handling, safety and maintenance, rolling stock, and customer service for the assigned facility(ies).

 

 

SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP

 

Supervises and directs all operations employees at the assigned facility(ies).

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Develops plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees.

 

Reviews product quality, and modifies operation and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operations.

 

Responsible for compliance with OSHA, state, and federal safety regulations and maintenance and professional appearance of equipment, rolling stock and facilities.

 

Oversees inventory management including monthly inventory measurement to comply with state mandate and company policy.

 

Communicate job expectations including planning, monitoring, appraising and reviewing job performance.

 

Plan and review compensation actions; enforcing employee guidelines and procedures.

 

Resolve problems arising from employee conflict or operation failures. Identify trends in both employee and operational management.

 

Coordinates the purchasing of facility equipment and supplies for the repair and maintenance of facilities.

 

Coordinates with Safety Manager for effective safety training for all employees.

 

Recommends or approves expenditures and appropriations to optimize profitability.

 

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Normally requires 3 years or more of operations related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of planning, organization, problem solving, project management and computer proficiency.

 

Demonstrates essential abilities including collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

             

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

 

Ability to work extended hours as business conditions warrant.

 

Ability to travel independently and overnight.

 

Occasionally exposed or required to: 

  • Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.)
  • Noisy conditions
  • Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures
  • Work at varying heights including climbs on grain bins, legs, etc.
  • Lift 51 - 70 lbs.
