PAY RANGE: $65,000-$80,000
PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT
Under the direction of the Crop Sales Manager/General Manager supervises the operations at the Assigned location including the scheduling, logistics, product handling, rolling stock, plant operations of satellite locations, and on-site customer sales. Assists in the development and implementations of objectives, goals and operational policies to maximize location profits and effectiveness for the company.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION
Display a positive attitude and good personal appearance with the customers.
Be responsible for all monthly inventories, ie, Fertilizers, Chemicals, Seeds, Fuels, Oils, L.P. Parts and equipment.
Supervises leads and develops both full time and part-time assigned employees required to operate the location. Assist in the hiring of new full time and part-time employees that are needed at the plant for operations.
Serves as the primary contact person for all operational needs for all departments at the location for people management.
Serves as the primary contact at the location for operational needs for customer.
Helps train employees to meet state, federal and company regulatory and safety needs.
Responsible for product ordering, inventory control, and shipping and receiving of seed, fertilizer, chemicals and facility supplies.
Responsible for efficient plant operations of blending, loading, handling, mixing and delivery of ag products which includes chemicals, liquid and dry fertilizers, anhydrous ammonia and seed products .
Responsible for the maintenance, records, and appearance of all company equipment used at the location. Helps in the planning of said maintenance, changes and improvements of the company equipment used at the location.
Responsible for counter sales and phone sales of agronomy and energy products and the forwarding of orders to right sales personal and customer inquiries to right departments. Assists sales personal in increasing sales through the operational role of meeting the needs of the grower.
Communicates with all salespeople in an orderly way to answer any concerns about operations issues involving customer service issues at plant locations.
Responsible for the timely follow up with salespeople of problems that arise from customer complaints about services received.
Stay current on agronomy and energy related products and services offered by the company.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervises 3 to 10 employees in the crops department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees: planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Ability to work hours other that those considered normal to meet the seasonal demands of the job.
Attends all required meeting and training programs.
Adheres to company health and safety policies.
Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experiences
Requires a college degree in Ag or Business preferred and some supervisory experience is preferred.
Previous applicator or related experience and training to demonstrate the ability to work with people can be a replacement of the above with willingness to learn.
FUNCTIONAL SKILLS
Demonstrate functional math skills and reading and writing legibility so others can read what has been written.
Proven ability to work indenpendly and be team-oriented environment.
Understanding of basic computer skills as they related to Ag business.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must possess or able to acquire a CDL License with all required endorsements, ie: airbrakes, and hazardous materials, and obtain a current State of Illinois, Custom Applicator’s Spraying License.

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to base pay, certain roles may be eligible for bonuses, incentives, and commissions.
