Purpose and Summary


Following the direction of the Board of Directors, is responsible for implementing Company policies and programs to ensure the growth, profitability and customer service of the Company.  Directly responsible for all elevator operations including grain handling, safety and maintenance of the facility and rolling stock and customer service.



Supervision and Leadership


Supervises, directs and leads the employees of the Company.



Essential Job Functions


Maintains proper record keeping complying with Auditors and State Warehouse Examiners. 


Directs the daily operations, ensuring maximum utilization of storage space and grain handling equipment. 


Responsible for grain handling including incoming, storage at the facility and outgoing to maximize margin generation. 


Maintains the grain quality, blending, and grain drying services of the facility.


Communicates with the grain merchandiser storage space and quality concerns.


Loads out grain per grade requirements to minimize discounts.


Works with the grain merchandiser to develop and implement grain marketing programs offered to the producer targeting both established and new customers. 


Oversees the Daily Position Record and associated grain transactions. Maintains proper grain dealer, grain warehouse, auditor and regulatory requirements.


Responsible for daily financial accounting including Banking, Payroll, AP, AR, General Ledger.  Prepares monthly financial reports for use by management and Board.


Recommends and oversees all capital expansion projects so that they stay within budget.


Responsible for compliance with all OSHA, federal and state safety requirements to ensure safety of employees and customers.


Maintains grain handling equipment, rolling stock, facilities and grounds to promote a professional appearance of the Company.


Utilizes technology including Microsoft programs and propriety software to maintain and enhance business processes.


Performs all other duties as assigned.





Normally requires a college degree in agribusiness or similar field of study.


Demonstrated supervisory experience including hiring, orientation, coaching, counseling, performance evaluations, training and ability to get work done through others.


Proven team building skills and ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.


Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record. 


Must have the ability to travel independently and overnight when necessary.


Ability to work hours beyond those considered normal. 


Occasionally required to climb and work at heights greater than 50 feet.


Occasionally required to lift and carry 50 lbs.
