PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Responsible for processing new credit and vendor applications, annual reviews, contacts past due customers, obtains financial information, maintains information systems, and prepares reports. 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Serves as the primary back-up to the Credit Analyst.

 

Obtains and processes credit application information needed to assess the credit worthiness of new customer and vendor accounts.  Completes data input of financial information into the Dun & Bradstreet (DNBi) database program and completes a financial analysis.  Inputs obtained credit application information into the customer relationship (CRM) database. 

 

Ensures all credit file information is documented in the electronic credit file is organized, and maintained on a regular basis.     

 

Makes collection calls to past due customer accounts as assigned.  Conducts follow-up calls with past due customers and the product divisions regarding collections.  Follows collection plans as recommended by the corporate credit manager or standard department procedures. 

 

Coordinates with product divisions to settle past due balances.  Document the calls and contacts into the CRM database program. 

 

Requests and obtains financial statements and information needed for new or existing customer credit reviews.  Conducts follow-up calls to customers to obtain financial information or guarantor financial information.  Prepares and submits reports needed for credit approval.  

 

Prepares and distributes reports on missing or required information to the corporate credit manager and product division managers including the efforts to obtain the information.   

 

Responds to credit inquiries regarding customers and provides GROWMARK information to suppliers and vendors.

 

Reviews and sends completed credit inquiries and vendor credit applications.   Researches bank and supplier references, Dun & Bradstreet reports, credit bureau reports, and websites to obtain financial and other credit-related information.

 

Notifies GROWMARK personnel regarding credit file maintenance and information needs.

 

Prepares and distributes various reports.

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Maintains departmental supplies inventory and orders supplies per established procedures.

 

Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

 

Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Normally requires an associate’s degree in accounting/finance, or the equivalent thereof, and related work experience to demonstrate credit administration knowledge and skills along with administrative experience serving the needs of multiple staff employees.

 

Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance is preferred.

 

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

 

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

 

Understanding and experience with credit applications, reviews, research, evaluation, collections, information systems, and administration along with business writing skills, business etiquette, records control, and office procedures.

 

Proven computer skills including spreadsheet and database management and the ability to learn GROWMARK-related software. 

 

Ability to work hours beyond those considered “normal”.

 

Proven ability to maintain confidentiality.

 

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
