PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Serves as the Credit intern under the direction of the Corporate Credit Manager, trains and assists with general Treasury Division functions.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

  • Develop a working knowledge of wholesale credit department operations and the underwriting process. 

 

  • Gather credit information and follow-up with customers as required.

 

  • Use imaging software to catalog credit information into electronic credit files.

 

  • Use analytical software to spread financial statements for quantitative analysis.

 

  • Prepare reports for credit limit approvals.

 

  • Assist with development of technology and procedures to improve processing of credit applications, annual account reviews, and account information maintenance.

 

  • Work with IT division and credit department to cleanse and confirm data for use with new databases and computer software platforms. 

 

  • Develop detailed procedures and best practices for use of the new programs and technology. 

 

  • Review and adjust credit policy guidelines to match best practices.

 

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

 

  • Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

 

  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Must be pursuing an accounting, finance, or related degree at a 4-year university with the status of at least a second semester junior or first semester senior in good academic standing at time the internship begins.

 

  • Demonstrates ability to work independently.

 

  • Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

 

  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and have the ability to travel independently and overnight as needed.

 

  • Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
