Sales & Operations Manager - GTTC - GROWMARK, Inc.

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Under the direction of the Director of Truck Transportation and Operations, assume responsibility for the Sales and Operations of GROWMARK Tank and Truck Center.  This includes managing staffing, operations planning, sales planning and execution, overall financial results & budget planning.  Ensuring the GTTC team provides “Perfect Service” meeting GROWMARK’s service and manufacturing standards. Responsible for proper maintenance of company owned equipment.  Responsible for profitable operations.

 

SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHP

 

Supervises, leads and develops the Shop Managers in Waterloo, Morton, South Roxanna, Des Moines and Arcola and Administrative Staff.  Responsible for the ongoing development of all other staff.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Manages and implements the overall operational and business development objectives for GTTC in an effort to achieve sales growth and profit objectives.  Collaborates with other

 

GROWMARK members and management team members to ensure alignment with short- and long-term strategic goals.

 

Directs overall management of Sales, Operations and Financial areas of the GTTC business and facility locations to ensure growth and profitability while maintaining commitment to

perfect service levels and return on investment goals.  

 

Directs the development and implementation of business and sales growth strategies.  Evaluates and analyzes current program results.    Develops short- and long-term strategic

plans, which includes, Sales Operations, Marketing and Capital budgets.

 

Supervises and leads the Shop teams to ensure technicians are productive and providing “Perfect Service” for our customers.  Develops and trains staff and ensure all company policies and standards are being followed.  Ensures all safety, compliance and DOT requirements are being met.  

 

Leads and directs the overall operations of the facility locations, including employee training and development, process improvements, cost containment and opportunities to improve efficiency with both customers equipment and GMK owned equipment.

 

Responsible for managing operating expenses.

 

Ensures all Company equipment assets are maintained properly.

 

Ensures technicians are supervised, productive and follow all company policies    

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Communicates and Collaborates with all other employees in the organization as well as GROWMARK Accounting, Finance, HR and IT Divisions.
 
Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

 

Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Normally requires a college degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, business or the equivalent thereof and 8 years or more of operations, sales and business experience. 

 

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communications, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

 

Proven supervisory and leadership skills including staffing, coaching, performance evaluation and the ability to achieve results through others.

 

Demonstrated planning, organization, problem-solving and project management skills.

 

Proven computer skills and the ability to use the computer to enhance business processes.

 

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and able to travel independently and overnight as needed.

 

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
