Retail Customer Specialist - GROWMARK, Inc. - Pipestone, MN

Responsible for developing and managing sales relationships for a defined set of current and prospective customers within an assigned geographic territory. Performs sales consultations through means of cold calling and scheduled appointments with both prospective and existing customers. Performs on-site customer service through deliveries, review of operational requirements, providing solutions through the sale of various products, including lubricants, bulk tank systems and related services.



Serves as Primary contact for assigned customers within the defined geographical territory, developing relationships, and selling value added lubricants and related products and services.

Serves as support to the Pipestone location ensuring the communicated service levels are attained and the customer expectations met. 

Maintains and develops relationships with existing customers promoting continuity between the Pipestone location and the customer through sales efforts. 

Profitably grow sales territory and meet the goals established by Lubricants Divisional Manager.

Generate leads, set customer appointments working in conjunction with the Associate Energy Account and Service Manager.

Track sales progress and report bi-weekly to Lubricants Divisional Manager. 

Assist with establishing credit terms and negotiating collection problems as they arise.

Maintain customer pricing, sales data, customer interactions, and profiles through CRM.

Commit to continuing education through advanced product knowledge and training, working with manufacturer’s reps, and attending manufacturer sponsored training classes.



Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.


Performs all other duties as assigned.




Normally requires a college degree in an Agricultural or business-related discipline or equivalent experience. 


Requires a CDL Class 8 certification.

Experience with industry equipment and services preferred.


Basic computer skills and proficiency with MS Office and Excel.


High level of motivation.

Possess planning, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.

Critical thinking skills along with the persuasiveness capability.

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.  

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.


Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
