Inventory Control Specialist - Customer Service - Seedway - Emmaus, PA

 

Seedway is headquartered in Hall, New York with branches in Pennsylvania, Florida, Vermont, Maine, and New York. Seedway has about 220 employees (including seasonal workers) and approximately 15,000 customers. The cooperative does business in farm, vegetable, and turf seed. Seedway is part of the GROWMARK System, an agricultural cooperative serving more than 100,000 customers across North America and Ontario, Canada.

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Performs clerical duties assigned in accordance with office procedures of individual establishments and may include a combination of inventory control, bookkeeping, data entry, office machine operation, answering telephones, and filing.

 

 

SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP

 

Oversees the business office functions and processes for improved productivity, accuracy and training.

 

Oversees office staff at location.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Provides Customer Service, working with vendors and growers

 

Compiles, copies, sorts, and files records of office activities, business transactions, and other activities.

 

Computes, records, and proofreads data and other information such as records or reports.

 

Receives products into inventory from vendors.

 

Tracks all in coming weights from seed growers to maintain control of inventory.

 

Processes all necessary information for work orders for mixes, grower payments, and seed conditioning per warehouse check-in information.

 

Maintains and updates inventory through JD Edwards.

 

Reviews files, records and other documents to obtain information to respond to requests.

 

Submits hours worked for all hourly location employees for weekly payroll processing.

 

Operates office machines such as photocopiers and scanners, facsimile machines, voice mail systems and personal computers

 

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

 

Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Normally requires a high school diploma or the equivalent thereof, and 1 - 3 years or more of clerical/bookkeeping related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of professional communication skills, data entry proficiency and Microsoft office programs.

 

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

 

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

 

Ability to work flexible and extended hours based on seasonal needs.

 

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
