Credit Clerk - Seedway, LLC - Hall, NY

 

Seedway is headquartered in Hall, New York with branches in Pennsylvania, Florida, Vermont, Maine, and New York. Seedway has about 220 employees (including seasonal workers) and approximately 15,000 customers. The cooperative does business in farm, vegetable, and turf seed. Seedway is part of the GROWMARK System, an agricultural cooperative serving more than 100,000 customers across North America and Ontario, Canada.

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Provides assistance to the Accounts Receivable and Credit Department by supporting day to day operations. This includes providing customer service, assisting with credit applications, and clerical duties.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Maintains customer accounts in J D Edwards system, including Sales Tax Exemption updates; high proficiency in data entry required.

 

Assist Receptionist with incoming phone calls.

 

Maintains customer credit files both digitally and physically.

 

Prepares acknowledgement of credit review letters and credit granted to sales manager, district sales manager and customer.

 

Periodically reviews account status, making collection calls and sending payment reminders.  Updates information system as to account status and notifies company personnel as required.

 

Backup Receptionist in select job duties.

 

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

 

May be required to run local errands as requested.

 

Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

 

Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Requires a high school diploma, or equivalent, and a minimum of one year of related work experience.

 

Must be able to work extended hours as necessary.

 

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development. Attention to detail is very important.

 

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

 

Ability to travel independently.

 

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
