Seedway has about 220 employees (including seasonal workers) and approximately 15,000 customers. The cooperative does business in farm, vegetable, and turf seed. Seedway is part of the GROWMARK System, an agricultural cooperative serving more than 100,000 customers across North America and Ontario, Canada.

 

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Provides financial information and support to management by researching and analyzing data and preparing reports.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Generates accounting reports as required, including inventory, manufacturing, A/R, A/P and general ledger.

 

Ensures all facilities are in compliance with established system policies and procedures related to inventory, A/P, A/R and general ledger.

 

Performs B/P transfer reconciliation and monthly reconciliation of selected supplier accounts

 

Completes Federal and State vehicle/trucking reporting.

 

Assists with sales tax and other state reporting.

 

Provides backup for various accounting functions.

 

Maintains confidentiality of financial data.

 

Analyzes reports and takes corrective actions.

 

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

 

Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in business administration or accounting, or the equivalent thereof, and 2 years or more of accounting related work experience.

 

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

 

Proven ability to maintain confidentiality.

 

Ability to travel independently and overnight.

 

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

 

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
