Seedway has about 220 employees (including seasonal workers) and approximately 15,000 customers. The cooperative does business in farm, vegetable, and turf seed. Seedway is part of the GROWMARK System, an agricultural cooperative serving more than 100,000 customers across North America and Ontario, Canada.

 

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Performs human resources activities in an effective and efficient manner to ensure employee records and documentation are in compliance with company requirements and state and federal labor laws. 

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Process hourly new hires and terminations for all company locations

 

Maintain hourly personnel files, including benefits and health files 

 

Responsible for reconciliation of insurance accounts

 

Responsible for weekly payroll processing, entering and transmitting data and maintaining payroll files

 

Tracks paid time off for salaried and hourly employees

 

Oversee compliance / safety training activities for all company personnel

 

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

 

May be required to attend career fairs

 

May be required to attend meetings at various company locations

 

May be required to conduct phone screen interviews or assist with face to face interviews

 

Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply

 

Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Normally requires an Associate’s degree in business administration, or the equivalent thereof, and 2 years or more of human resources related work experience to demonstrate decision making skills and technical proficiency using Microsoft Office products and other proprietary software.  A Bachelor’s degree in human resources is preferred.

 

HRCI Certified Professional (PHR) and/or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credentials

 

Must maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

 

Must be able to travel independently and overnight

 

Must be willing to work hours beyond those considered “normal”

 

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

 

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
