Human Resources Coordinator - SEEDWAY - Hall, NY

Seedway is headquartered in Hall, New York with branches in Pennsylvania, Florida, Vermont, Maine, and New York. Seedway has about 220 employees (including seasonal workers) and approximately 15,000 customers. The cooperative does business in farm, vegetable, and turf seed. Seedway is part of the GROWMARK System, an agricultural cooperative serving more than 100,000 customers across North America and Ontario, Canada.




Performs human resources activities in an effective and efficient manner to ensure employee records and documentation are in compliance with company requirements and state and federal labor laws. 





Provides leadership over a part-time administrative support worker. 





Processes new hires and terminations for all company locations.


Maintains personnel files, including benefits and health files.


Administers benefits program for all company personnel.


Maintains driver DOT files, including physicals, MVR’s, drug testing, and training.  Coordinates and monitor random drug testing program.


Processes and monitors workman’s compensation and disability claims.


Responsible for weekly payroll processing, entering and transmitting data and maintaining payroll files.


Processes all increases, commissions and bonus payments.


Obtains vehicle e-z passes for company owned and leased vehicles.


Tracks paid time off for salaried and hourly employees.


Coordinates training activities with safety manager.





May be required to attend career fairs.


May be required to conduct phone screen interviews or assist with face to face interviews.


Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.


Performs all other duties as assigned.





Normally requires an Associate’s degree in business administration, or the equivalent thereof, and 2 years or more of human resources related work experience to demonstrate decision making skills and technical proficiency using Microsoft Office products and other proprietary software.  A Bachelor’s degree in human resources is preferred.


Must maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.


Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.


Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
