The Logistics Distribution Coordinator is responsible for overseeing seed distribution operations. This role ensures that our fleet operates legally and efficiently while managing company drivers. The coordinator will work closely with the operations team and collaborate with various internal teams to meet customer demands, optimize logistics processes, and contribute to the success of our supply chain operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service Coordination:
    • Learn and support all functions of the Farm & Turf Seed customer service group, developing familiarity with dealers, products, and customer needs.
    • Collaborate with sales representatives and Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) to address special customer requests and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Delivery and Order Management:
    • Work with the mixing department to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of custom mixes, while allowing adequate time for the warehouse to pull orders to meet customer and internal transfer demands.
  • Driver and Fleet Management:
    • Manage company drivers, including scheduling, time tracking, and routing, ensuring efficient and legal fleet operation.
    • Cultivate strong working relationships with warehouse and office personnel to ensure seamless coordination.
  • Transportation Optimization:
    • Utilize transportation management systems to schedule truckload and less-than-truckload shipments for all divisions.
    • Identify and implement cost-reduction opportunities while maintaining a high level of service.
  • Maintenance & Efficiency:
    • Track vehicle usage, monitor maintenance schedules, and optimize trucking operations for maximum efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Support to Supply Chain Manager:
    • Provide backup assistance to the Supply Chain Manager as needed, ensuring smooth logistics operations across all departments.

Other Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with operations, warehousing, and delivery teams to achieve key performance objectives.
  • Attend training sessions, meetings, and other professional development activities as required.
  • Perform any additional tasks or projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree or vocational certification is preferred.
  • Experience: Prior experience in trucking, logistics, or mechanical fields is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication, organizational, and managerial skills.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn the company’s operating system.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
    • Ability and willingness to work extended hours as needed to meet operational demands.
